Choudwar is a city and a municipality in the Cuttack district. Hailed as the industrial centre of Odisha. It was once the capital of the Somali Keshar Kings of Odisha. The eight prominent Shiva Pithas were established by the Keshari dynasty during their rule. Many scenic spots around add to the charm of the place. Choudwar is a place of historic importance.

Choudwar Fort Ruins
The Choudwar Fort Ruins in Cuttack, Odisha, are the remains of an ancient 12th-century fortress, historically significant as a stronghold of the Somavanshi Keshari dynasty and famously associated with the four-gated ("Chou-dwar") entrance mentioned in legends. Located on the banks of the Birupa River, this centrally protected site features fenced, landscaped ruins, stone carvings, and nearby ancient temples, offering a glimpse into the region's rich, albeit threatened, archaeological heritage.
